Book online ticket from the Cathay Pacific Airways, Dragon, buy the CNX Chiang Mai ticket (round trip) https://www.cathaypacific.com or use your Asia miles to redeem the air ticket;

  1. Fill in the forms both the arrival and departure time and schedule; the departure form must be filled in so that the officer can stamp the form and staple on the passport, if not, he will ask you to fill in and this will waste your time because you have to catch up with your group tour. Chiang Mai back to HK :

In order to get on a bus to Chiang Mai Airport, we have to get on the following red bus to go to Mae Sai Station to buy the ticket. Bring the ticket then you can get on the bus to Chiang Mai; then get on a taxi mini bus to the Chiang Mai Airport. i.e.:

  1. Go to the red bus station (next to the Burma border) and get on a red bus (tbd15) to Mae Sai Station;
  2. Buy a ticket (tbd205) for Chiang Mai (bus station) from the “Green Bus” counter; there are two kinds of buses: either one without toilet or the other have toilet.
  3. The day going to the Chiang Mai Airport: get on the red bus (tbd15) (next to the border) to Mae Sai Station;
  4. On Mae Sai Station get on a bus (using the ticket (tbd205) bought before; in Chiang Rai, this is the procedure to by ticket before departure) to Chiang Mai Station.
  5. After getting off the Chiang Mai Station, get on a mini taxi bus to the Chiang Mai Airport (to HK).

The red station (just next to the Burma border) runs from 6:30am to 6:00pm
